Narakorn Sittites

ARTIST STATEMENT

A Thai painter, Narakorn Sittites finds purpose in seeking meaning from his personal memories and experiences.  Hispainting is a narrative language that has some characteristics similarly to “short stories” (prose fiction) that often have only one main event single storyline, one scene, only a few plays.  There is a short period from the beginning to the end; posing questions and drifting for us to ponder.

Sittites’ artwork is a “summary” of events and scattered experiences.  When the artist works, he revisits the story about himself.  Various images are created from “garnishing” his own memories.  His body of work is a collection of short stories, each of which has unique content.
