About the Artist

Phannapast Taychamaythakool (Yoon) is a Thai contemporary artist and designer based in Bangkok. With a background in fashion design, she has collaborated with major international brands like Gucci, Sulwhasoo, Anthropologie, Jim Thompson, Lucaris, Balvenie, and Swatch.

Her work often delves into themes of mythology, folklore, and personal introspection, blending traditional elements with contemporary aesthetics. She is known for her ability to transform cultural and symbolic stories into captivating visual narratives, seamlessly combining fashion, art and design.

Through her work, Phannapast explores the boundaries of imagination and instinct, inviting reflection on personal experiences and emotions, particularly through her large-scale installations, artworks, and wearable art collections. Each piece she creates, whether a mural, fashion collection, or intimate object, serves as a vessel for time, transformation, and self-discovery. In her latest exhibition, “I Prepared My Heart for the Next Moon’s Voyage”, Phannapast shares a personal journey of embracing vulnerability and time, confronting fear, and seeking balance between the imagined and the instinctual.

Her exhibitions and collaborations, often infused with elements from mythology and the natural world, offer a poetic, introspective approach to themes like love, identity, and emotional growth. Always mindful of the interplay between instinct and imagination, her work acts as both a mirror and a guide, reflecting the complexities of the human experience.

Phannapast’s artistic journey is not just about the pieces she creates, but about inviting her audience to explore their own path of self-understanding and connection to the world around them, embracing the delicate balance of fear, time, and transformation.
