BIOGRAPHY
Chattakan Vongsiri was born in 1989. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Visual Arts) from faculty of Painting, Sculpture, and Graphic Art at Silpakorn University in 2013.
Chattakan’s work explores the context that arises from people’s mental states, the diversity of ethnicities, and the ever-changing society. Chattakan began his journey as a glass artist in 2016 under BGC Glass Studio. He is one of the first group of artists in Thailand to use glass as an art medium.
Chattakan has received international grants for glass art including a workshop with Nick Mount, a pioneering glass artist from Australia at Niijima Glass Art Center, Niijima Island, Japan. He received a grant from the 32nd Niijima International Glass Art Festival to participate in a workshop with Martin Janecky at the world-renowned Pilchuck Glass School in the United States.
Chattakan is the manager of BGC Glass Studio. He aspires to be a driving force in promoting glass art in Thailand and to showcase the potential of Thai glass artists internationally.
