Between the Lines
Thanistha Nunthapojn sutures celadon porcelain, such as bowls and vases, repairing ready-made ware once broken beyond use. Now resurrected, these vessels are endowed with many new possibilities that coexist with the spectre of their former lives. Recalling practices of care for the body and spirit of living beings, Thanistha’s artistic practice ensures the preservation of traditional knowledge, making whole what was once broken, while occasioning a new beginning for objects that have been discarded and, for all intents and purposes, forgotten.
