BIOGRAPHY
Born in 1981 in Korea, Jaemin Lee studied Western Painting from Keimyung University in Korea and a certificate from St. Petersburg Repin Academy of Fine Arts, Russia.
At a glance, Lee’s artwork seems to be snapshots of normal days with mundane scenes as a backdrop. Her work defies a classification of ‘ordinary’ as it holds the viewer’s gaze with unusual elements and vivid colors.
Her subjects are always on the move. Her high chroma color palette and the pose of her subjects give out the sense of exoticism. The human element in her paintings are completely or partially naked. They are absorbed into the landscape in a way that never seems sexual.
Lee exhibited in South Korea and Singapore. She currently lives and works in Singapore.
